After Getting Your Bixby Marriage License
Your license is valid for 10 days. The ceremony must happen within that time. An ordained minister, judge, or retired judge performs the wedding. Two adult witnesses must be present and sign the license. Ministers no longer need to file credentials with the Court Clerk as of November 1, 2022. That change came through O.S. Title 43, Section 7.
After the wedding, return the signed license to the Tulsa County Court Clerk within 30 days. You can drop it off at the main Tulsa office or the Broken Arrow satellite. The license works anywhere in Oklahoma. Many Bixby couples pick up their license in Broken Arrow and hold the ceremony right here in Bixby or at one of the area venues.
Note: A six-month waiting period applies after an Oklahoma divorce before either person can marry someone new.
