How to Apply for a Seminole County Marriage License
Both people must go to the Seminole County Court Clerk office at the same time. One person cannot apply alone. Bring a valid photo ID like a driver's license, state ID, passport, or certified birth certificate. The clerk will ask for your full legal name, date of birth, and Social Security number. If you were married before, you need to know the date that marriage ended and how it ended, whether by divorce or death of a spouse.
Once you fill out the application and pay the $50 fee, the clerk hands you the license right away. There is no waiting period for adults 18 and older under Oklahoma Title 43. You can get married the same day. Couples who are 16 or 17 need a parent or guardian present, and they face a 72-hour waiting period before the license is issued. Nobody under 16 can marry in Seminole County except by court order.
Your Seminole County marriage license is valid for 10 days after the clerk issues it. Hold your ceremony within that window. The officiant and two witnesses must sign the license after the wedding. Then bring it back to the Seminole County Court Clerk within 30 days, though the office prefers you return it within 5 days. Late returns can cause problems with your marriage record.
