Texas County is remote. Guymon is in the Panhandle, far from most of the state's larger cities. Plan your trip to the courthouse carefully, especially if you are driving from outside the area. How to Get a Marriage License in Texas County

Both people must appear together at the Texas County Court Clerk office. One person cannot apply alone. Bring a valid form of ID such as a driver's license, passport, or state photo ID. The clerk needs your full name, date of birth, Social Security number, and information about any previous marriages. Fill out the application, pay the fee, and the clerk issues the license on the spot.

Adults 18 and older face no waiting period under Oklahoma Title 43. You can hold your ceremony the same day you pick up the Texas County marriage license. Younger applicants aged 16 or 17 need a parent or guardian to come with them and sign consent. A 72-hour waiting period applies for minors. Court order is the only path for anyone under 16.

The marriage license stays valid for 10 days. After your wedding, the officiant and two witnesses sign the license. Then you bring it back to the Texas County Court Clerk. The law allows up to 30 days for the return, but sooner is better. Once filed, the completed license becomes a permanent record at the Texas County courthouse. Anyone can request a copy of it later.
