How to Apply for a Rogers County Marriage License

Both people must show up at the Rogers County Court Clerk's office at the same time. One person can not apply alone. Bring valid photo ID. A driver's license is the most common form people use. Passports, state ID cards, and military IDs work too. If your ID is from another country, bring a translated birth certificate along with it.

The clerk will have you complete an application form that asks for full legal names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and the names you will use after the marriage. If either of you was married before, you need to provide details about how that marriage ended including the date of the divorce or death of the former spouse. Once you fill out the form and pay the $50 fee, the Rogers County clerk issues the marriage license on the spot. Under Oklahoma Statutes Title 43, there is no waiting period for adults age 18 and older. You can hold your ceremony the very same day.

The Rogers County marriage license is valid for 10 days. Your wedding ceremony must take place in that time frame or the license expires. After the ceremony, the officiant and two adult witnesses sign the license. The signed document goes back to the Rogers County Court Clerk within 30 days for permanent filing.

Note: Rogers County marriage license applications require both parties present at the Claremore courthouse with valid photo ID and the $50 fee.

  • Driver's license or state-issued photo ID

  • Date of any prior divorce decree
  • Death certificate of former spouse if widowed

If you were divorced in Oklahoma, Title 43, Section 128 of the state statutes says you have to wait six months before remarrying someone new. That wait does not apply when you remarry the same person.
